The flight that Nigeria is showing is from Ethiopia, according to the head of Nigerian Airlines.
Some Nigerian news outlets have said that the plane is from Ethiopia since the day it was launched.
Captain Dapo Olumide, the head of Nigerian Airlines, said on Tuesday that the plane that the country got in May was rented from Ethiopia.
Reports say that on May 26, the Nigeria Air flight took off from Addis Ababa and arrived at the Nnamdi Azikwe airport in Abuja.
Captain Olumodi told the Senate committee, though, that the plane was sent back to Ethiopia soon after it was given to the United States.
Since the plane was first shown to the public, some Nigerian news outlets have said that it came from Ethiopia.
Senator Biodun Olujimi, who is in charge of the Senate Committee, was upset by how quickly the former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, gave the plane to Buhari on the last day of his time in office.
Nnolim Nnaji, who is the head of the House of Representatives Committee on Air Transport, said that what happened was a trick on trust.
In response, the Nigerian Ministry of Civil Aviation said that the company was presented but that the flights had not yet started.
Olumide says that this was done to show Nigerians that the job of starting the company is still going on and has not been forgotten.
