Those who insult the Nigerian flag will be fined 100 thousand naira
The House of Representatives is calling for an increase in the fine imposed on those found guilty of desecrating the Nigerian flag from 100 naira to 100 thousand naira.
Yesterday, the bill to amend the respect of the Nigerian Flag passed the second reading in the House of Representatives.
Member of Parliament Sada Soli of the APC party from Katsina state who presented the bill, said that there are individuals of the community and the people of the town and some groups that are demeaning the Nigerian flag.
Deciding on the bill, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu referred the bill to a committee of the House for further action.
