DR Congo denies signing an agreement with Russia
The government of the Democratic Republic of Congo has denied signing a military agreement with Russia.
At the beginning of this week, the Russian news agency Tass reported that Moscow approved a draft cooperation agreement with DR Congo that includes exercises and training of the country's forces.
The issue of the cooperation agreement comes at a time when tensions between the DR Congo and its neighbor Rwanda are increasing.
The government of Kinshasa accuses Rwanda of supporting the rebels in the east of the country, a charge that Kigali has repeatedly denied.
